Onshape is a cloud-based, collaborative CAD (Computer-Aided Design) and product development platform made by PTC. It allows teams to design, collaborate, and share CAD drawings for various purposes, including product design, manufacturing, and service. Onshape is known for its real-time collaboration features, enabling multiple users to work on the same design simultaneously, and its accessibility across different devices. PTC has sponsored the ODU AIAA with our own enterprise subscription making collaboration easier than ever.
STR makes the world a safer place by developing technology and applying it to solve emerging national security challenges. STR has provided the ODU AIAA Design, Build, Fly (DBF) team with financial aid to participate in the 2026 DBF competition. Thanks to STR we will be able to teach our students about emerging drone technologies and manufacturing techniques.
The Hampton Roads Section of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics is based out of NASA Langley Research Center allowing students from ODU to collaborate and communicate with professionals from NASA on a regular basis. The Hampton Roads Section provides the students at ODU critical ties to the aerospace industry and offers exclusive projects allowing our students to build real world experience.
The Virginia Space Grant Consortium (VSGC): Partnering with NASA, Industry, and Institutions to Provide STEM Education, Promote STEM Research, and Prepare the Next Generation of the STEM Workforce. They provide FREE scholarships, fellowships, STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) courses and programs, internships with NASA and industry, NASA summer academies, educator professional development, and STEM research.
