Curious about the roles and responsibilities of a rural librarian? Join the ODU American Library Association's Student Chapter on May 22! Self-professed small-town librarian Lisa Thompson will join us for a lively conversation about library programming, community involvement, and balancing empathy with healthy boundaries. Lisa is a regular on the library conference circuit (ALA, Virginia Library Association, and the Association for Rural & Small Libraries). In her words: "There is no other job in the world like being a librarian ... we are some of the most fun, most empathetic, most socially conscious folks I have ever met."
