Become a certified swim instructor! The American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor Course, also known as WSI, trains candidates to teach water safety programs, including the Basic Water Rescue course, the six levels of the Learn to Swim program, and Parent and Child Aquatics. There are specific swim skill pre-requisites, so check those out on our website prior to signing up.

This course is 5 days long, spread over two weekends. You must attend all sessions to receive your certification.

Pricing is $225 for ODU students, $250 for SRWC members, and $300 for all others. Visit the ODU Rec Well website for more details, and the ODU Rec Well Portal to register! Registration closes two weeks ahead of the class start date.
