The Battle for the Crown is coming, and your organization has a chance to win BIG while helping student organizations contribute 5,000 items toward the Monarchs Give Back goal! Starting October 6, ODU student organizations will compete in the Monarchs Give Back Student Organization Challenge. Each week will bring a new challenge, a new opportunity to get involved, and another chance for your organization to make an impact.

Join us on October 6, 2026, from 12:30 PM–1:30 PM in Center Café as we officially kick off the Battle for the Crown! Come enjoy good vibes, ice cream and cake, and some ODU spirit while learning more about the challenge, how your organization can participate, and what we have planned for the weeks ahead. Click here to find out more information about the Battle for the Crown Kickoff! 

WEEK 1: MISSION LAUNCH

Week 1 is all about getting started! Gather your organization, start collecting donations, and build momentum as we begin our push toward 150,000 items. This is your opportunity to get an early start and help set the tone for the rest of the Battle for the Crown.

WEEK 2: DOUBLE THE IMPACT

We’ll start Week 2 with Fall Break, but once we return, it’s double time! During this week, every donated item will count as TWO toward your organization’s total. Start collecting early and come back from break ready to make twice the impact!

WEEK 3: THE FINAL SHOWDOWN

For the final week, SAC, SGA, and Blue Crown Society are going head-to-head in THE FINAL SHOW DOWN! Participating student organizations will be divided among the three teams as we bring the challenge to an exciting finish. At the end of the week, we’ll recognize the Top Big Organization, consisting of 20 members or more, and the Top Small Organization, consisting of less than 20 members. The winning organizations will receive a special prize!
