To help student leaders reach their full leadership potential we are facilitating the Student Leadership Practice Inventory (SLPI) during this semester’s Leadership Lecture Series.

This series is appropriate for students in leadership roles and can get feedback from five people familiar with your leadership practice. The review of the five practices will be covered in three sessions held: Feb. 21, March 20 & April 3 at 12 noon via zoom. Please register only if you are available for all three sessions.

The Student Leadership Practice Inventory is a cornerstone of a powerful leadership development model, created by James M. Kouzes and Barry Z. Posner, authors of the book, The Leadership Challenge and The Student Leadership Challenge. This SLPI assessment is a quick and easy way for Leaders to rate themselves and begin to take action to improve their leadership performance.

Participation on your part includes doing the self-assessment and asking at least five colleagues in your leadership circle to complete the observer assessment on your behalf. Typically, it takes a leader or observer approximately 10-15 minutes to complete the 30-item assessments. This workshop includes review of the behaviors and actions of exemplary leadership, identifying areas of improving your organization leadership practices, and identifying personal strengths as leaders.

Once you register on Monarch Groups, you will receive an email with instructions on how to complete the LPI 360 online. The info will look similar to this:

Leader Instructions for completing LPI 360 Online

As a leader, completing the LPI consists of 5 simple steps: Registering, Completing the self-assessment, Assigning observers. Monitoring Observer Progress, and Observing Others.

1. Register

You will receive a separate email message from notifications@pfeifferassessments.com with a subject line that reads, “LPI Online – Leadership Skills Assessment.” If you do not receive the notification email, please contact your administrator.

If you are new to the LPI, click on the link in your welcome email which will take you to the registration page. If clicking on the link does not take you to the registration page, please try copy/pasting the link into your browser. Complete all of the requested the information including the secret questions.

Note: If you have multiple email addresses, please click on “Add Another Email” during registration and enter them there. It can be clicked multiple times to add multiple addresses.

If you have used LPI before as a Leader or Observer, the email you receive will contain the link to the log on page, as well as your user name. Click on the link to log into LPI.

Note: If you do not remember your password, please use the forgotten password link at the login page.

2. Complete the Assessment

When you’ve completed the registration process, you will be logged into LPI. Once you’re logged in, you can complete the Self survey by clicking on “Start Assessment.” Click Submit at the end of the survey to have your answers recorded.

Note: Once you submit your survey your answers cannot be changed

3. Assign Observers

Once logged in click on Manage Observers. Then, enter in your observers’ information and make sure to save it. Sometimes before you add Observers into the LPI system, you may want to send them a personal email to alert them to the fact you are asking them to complete this survey for you and stress the deadline. Let them know that they, too, will receive an email from notifications@pfeifferassessments.com with a link that will take them to the registration page.

Note: an email template is available that you can use. It is available here.

4. Monitor Observer Progress

You may return to the site at any time to monitor how many of your Observers have responded and send a reminder email to those who have not yet completed the survey by clicking on the “Remind All” button. This will send a reminder ONLY to those who have not yet completed the survey. Or you can send an individual reminder to just one observer.

5. Observer Others

If you are selected as an Observer, you will receive a notification email from each leader requesting your feedback. You should also see these assessments appear on your LPI dashboard. Just click on Take Assessment next to their name to begin.

NOTE: If you have more than one Observer request, please verify who you are completing the survey for because once a survey is submitted, the answers cannot be changed.

NOTE: The LPI system will “time out” if left idle for 45 minutes and all work will most likely be lost.

Trouble?

If you experience any issues with your survey and need assistance please contact Wiley Technical Support though the support site at: http://lpi.custhelp.com/ or you can call 800-762-2974.
