Terrie Edwards is a Regional President for Sentara Healthcare responsible for the system's Southside (VA) and North Eastern NC hospitals, which includes Sentara Leigh Hospital, Sentara Princess Anne Hospital, Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital, Sentara Obici Hospital, and Sentara Albemarle Medical Center. In addition, she is also responsible for the system Operational Process Improvement in the system. Terrie has served as the Operations leader for the System Covid Task Force since it's inception in January of 2020.

She has been in her current role since August of 2020. Prior to this position, Terrie served a similar role on the Peninsula with responsibility for three Sentara hospitals, as well as Home Care, Hospice, Specialty Pharmacy, and other Sentara businesses. Terrie joined Sentara in September of 2008 as the President of Sentara Leigh Hospital, a 250-bed hospital in Norfolk, Va.

Prior to joining Sentara, Terrie was the President of Bon Secours St. Francis Medical Center, in Richmond Virginia, where she planned the hospital, opened it, and operated it for three years post opening. Additionally, she has been a Practice Administrator for a large Cardiac & Thoracic surgical practice, and Chief Operating officer roles in two previous hospitals.

Melissa "Mel" Goodrich is the Vice President and Chief People Officer of Healthcare Delivery for Sentara Healthcare. Mel is a seasoned Human Resources Executive with more than 30 years of experience working in the healthcare, retail, and workforce staffing industries.

In 2020, Mel joined Sentara Healthcare, one of the largest health systems in the U.S. Mid-Atlantic and Southeast, and among the top 20 largest not-for-profit integrated health systems in the country, with 30,000 employees, 12 hospitals in Virginia and Northeastern North Carolina, and the Sentara Health Plans division which serves more than 1.2 million members in Virginia and Florida. As a strong business leader who drives accountability and results through talent, transparency, and collaboration, Mel oversees the human resource activities across all Sentara hospitals, Sentara Medical Group, Sentara Enterprises, and the Sentara corporate departments of finance and community outreach. Mel is a trusted advisor to senior leaders and aligns the Human Resources Business Partner function to the broader Human Resources and organizational strategic goals. Her expertise as a Co-Active trained executive coach and her background in workforce planning and organizational development, has been instrumental in improving retention and enhancing engagement.

Previous Experience
Before joining Sentara, Mel served as Assistant Vice President of Human Resources responsible for MedStar Health's diversified outpatient portfolio, including MedStar National Rehabilitation Hospital, Medstar Ambulatory, MedStar Urgent Care, MedStar Home Health, MedStar Care Connection and MedStar-owned health plans. She spent most of her career with Target Corporation, a Fortune 100 company supporting commercial retail locations in Washington DC, Maryland and Virginia. Mel has held increasingly responsible human resources leadership positions across multiple divisions in complex and multi-state environments.
