Hello everyone this is your current president, Annika. I'm writing to quit you all as we are preparing for this fall semester, I just wanted to cover a couple of things. If you have any questions about anything in this message, please feel free to either text me or e-mail me. I will include my contact information at the end of this e-mail.
First off ,please let me know immediately if you would like to step down from your position on the executive board. These are the contacts I have for the current executive board, and I wanna make sure I have the most up-to-date information. I will give everybody fair warning that this fall I will be running a tight but also supportive and collaborative ship this year, and I do not want to have anybody on the executive board who does not genuinely want to be here. If you are here just to fill a resume spot, that is completely fine, but I do ask you to step down from the officer position and assume the role of an active member. I'm really looking to have a supportive executive board who's committed to growing this chapter and helping to develop our reputation and the professional skills of those on campus.
As we're getting ready for fall recruitment, I'm working on getting events created for a fall rush. If anybody has any contacts at all or would like to help set up an event, please let me know. Please also let me know if you have any contacts for individuals on campus who I can reach out to regarding hosting events or reserving spaces. If everybody can volunteer two hours of their time over the next week, that would be greatly appreciated and it would help a lot with the process. I'm looking to have about 10 to 15 people be initiated this fall, which I think is a reasonable goal. If we all collaborate and use our combined connections and networks, I believe that this is something we can truly achieve. This Sunday, I will be having our first official executive board meeting, and I will be sending out a link to that later this week. Please make sure that you show up to this, as it is extremely important that we all can meet officially, as we were all be working closely with each other throughout the year. As goes for many event, if you cannot make it, please just let me know at least 24 hours in advance. I do not like late notices, as it disrupts the flow of efficiency.
In terms of communication, I do expect constant checking of e-mail and text messages, or whichever designated form of communication we decide on. I will be creating a new GroupMe chat, so please disregard any messages from past chats. I would like everybody to send me their phone numbers, and or username for group me so that I can get this created by the end of the week. Constant communication is important so that we can best collaborate with each other and be efficient. Especially as executive board members, I expect everybody to be timely with responses, and I should not go a week without hearing from somebody. We will be having weekly meetings following chapter, once the new members are initiated. I currently plan on holding chapter at 6:00 PM on Sundays, followed by a 30 to 45 minute executive board meeting from 7:15 to proximately 8:00 PM. If you need to get dinner, you're more than welcome to do it during that time. If anybody would prefer to have these meetings over zoom, I completely understand but again, expect communication to let me know that you will not be attending. If we would like to be doing these meetings in person, I can either reserve rooms in Perry library, or we can meet in a meeting room at the Webb center. I'm very flexible with meeting location.
Again, I'm here to support you and I really just want to grow this organization on campus. I think it's an amazing opportunity that we have and I think we should take advantage of it to the fullest. Please let me know if you have any questions at all, and I look forward to working closely with each one of you this fall and spring.
All the best,
Annika Gromek
