About Us

The purpose of the organization shall be to generate further interest in STEM teaching and promote the success of the MonarchTeach pre-service math and science teachers at Old Dominion University. In doing so, MTSO will provide its members with opportunities for professional growth, promote the visibility of MonarchTeach both on campus and in the community, participate in community outreach, and provide a means for students to develop friendships with other students who share common goals.

Members Benefits

We are a diverse group of students interested in teaching science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. If you're looking for help to get through courses and navigate needs for licensure, then this is the group for you. Visit us in the Education building workroom (EDU 4200) or come out to one of our social events during the semester. The MonarchTeach Student Organization (MTSO) also reaches out to help others in the community with education-related events, participation awards you an extra cord at graduation.
