About Us

The Marine Biology Student Association (MBSA) is an official ODU student organization for undergraduate students interested in marine biology. The purpose of the MBSA is to: -Facilitate communication and interaction among students and faculty within the Department of Biological Sciences, and the Department of Ocean, Earth, and Atmospheric Sciences at Old Dominion University; -Engage students in marine biology-related service activities in Hampton Roads and beyond; -Disseminate information pertaining to the field; including (but not limited to) Ocean and Earth science research, internship, educational, and professional opportunities to its members; -Develop a deeper understanding of Ocean and Earth Sciences through seminars by faculty, graduate students, and invited guests within the Department of Biological Sciences, and the Department of Ocean, Earth and Atmospheric Sciences at Old Dominion University; and to -Provide members with career and coursework counseling.
