First General Assembly meeting of Fall 2023

Thankfully to all the current and new members, BGSO has hosted their first general assembly meeting. We discussed plans for the future events, interactions with the Department of Biological Sciences and the Graduate School at ODU, and funding bio grad students attending conferences.

We are still seeking ideas for a BGSO-sponsored events this fall (e.g., Halloween party, Oktoberfest, Chili Cookout, etc.) and those who would be willing to host them.

We are planning to have a wetland restoration event this fall, potentially, close to campus and in collaboration with local organization. We will also potentially volunteer for the Blackwater Ecological Preserve.

As a reminder, BGSO can sponsor travel, lodging, and registration to attend a professional conference in 2023-2024.
