Mission
The American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) strives to ignite and celebrate aerospace ingenuity and collaboration and its importance to our way of life at Old Dominion University. The AIAA ODU Chapter makes great efforts to provide members a vital link to the aerospace community through sharing interests in aerospace and astronautics.

AIAA’s guiding principle, “Shaping the Future of Aerospace,” is not merely a motto–it is the mission that drives our organization forward. We firmly believe that the next generation of aerospace engineers will rise through exposure to inspiring experiences.

Membership Benefits
Members will gain access to the Unmanned and Autonomous Vehicles Laboratory, Space Systems Laboratory, and exclusive events hosted by AIAA. Gain access to guest speakers, industry tours, and collaboration with NASA Langley Research Center. All members will also be eligible to contribute the the ODU AIAA Design, Build, Fly team.
