Contemporary Music Composers Association pursues the improvement of music composers and performers at Old Dominion University by instilling members with a rich and accepting view of both concert and commercial music composition and offering new exciting musical experience for musicians of all skill levels.
Access to a wellspring of knowledge concerning the inner workings of contemporary music composition. Opportunities to learn about composing both instrumental and vocal music. Opportunities to have original music performed. Opportunities to perform original music written by ODU students. Opportunities to learn about sound design, orchestration, writing for multiple voice parts, writing engaging and beautiful harmonies, idiosyncrasies of writing for specific instruments and instrument families, etc.
